INSTALLATION WORKROOM / TOOL 05

Plan the rolls.
Mark every drop.

From wall measurements to a numbered, pattern-aware cutting worksheet. No mystery waste percentage.

01 / INPUT

Measurements

width & height in inches
Include a header and each separate rectangular wall section. Comma or tab separated; wall names use printable English/ASCII characters (1–36). Ordinary windows and doors are not subtracted.
02 / ROLL SPECIFICATION

Copy the pattern repeat and match from the actual roll label. A full repeat is reserved at each patterned roll head for locating the first motif.

Load the sample or enter measurements. Nothing is uploaded.

FROM THE ROLL LABEL

Allow for the pattern.
Not just the area.

Every wall is split into full-height drops using the physical roll width. The cutting plan simulates strips in hanging order and inserts the required phase-alignment gap when switching motifs, rather than simply dividing square footage by advertised coverage.

01

Measure every wall independently

Enter outside-to-outside width and the greatest full height. The final strip may be narrower, but is still cut from a full-width length.

02

Establish the first motif

Each patterned roll reserves up to one full vertical repeat for finding the matching starting print. The diagram assumes a reference origin; real printed coordinates can vary.

03

Verify before cutting

Identify the pattern origin and motif phase on the actual roll, confirm trim and seam orientation, then work in drop order. Buy from the same dye lot and keep a contingency roll.

SCOPE / PLEASE READ

A dependable plan needs dependable measurements.

Does this calculate every wallpaper job?

No. It models up to 20 rectangular, full-height wall sections and 140 strips. It does not deduct openings or account for slopes, offsets at corners, pattern stretching, damage, batch defects, opposing print direction or irregular mural panels.

Is the roll diagram an exact cutting ruler?

No. It is proportional planning geometry. The roll-head reserve is conservative, and actual first-motif position is unknown. Align the actual print before marking and cutting. CSV millimetre coordinates describe the mathematical model, not an automatic physical cut location.

How is half-drop matching handled?

Alternate strips within each wall use two motif phases separated by half the given repeat. The plan follows wall strip order, then begins a fresh phase at the next independent wall. Verify your paper label does not specify quarter-drop, reverse hang or another nonstandard match.

Are purchases guaranteed?

No. The worksheet is a conservative estimate under your measurements, trim and match settings—not a manufacturer quotation. Check coverage, seam plan and installer requirements before ordering. Optional spare rolls are counted separately.
